Rescue helicopters landing site in Wałcz
The landing site was made in the form of a reinforced concrete slab in the shape of a square with sides equal to 20 m. Around the landing area, a take-off field was marked with sixteen markers measuring 2x1 m. The take-off field markers form a FATO field (a square up to 28 m on a side). 16 white lamps define a square with sides measuring 30 m. An internal access road leads to the landing pad. The existing entrance to the hospital grounds remains unchanged. The width of the planned access road to the landing site is 5 m. The road is made of concrete blocks with a substructure adapted for fire brigade vehicles.
The landing site is designed for take-offs and landings of air rescue helicopters during the day and at night with a total take-off mass (MTOM) of up to 12,000 kg and a maximum helicopter length of up to 14 m. It will be used by Eurocopter EC-135 helicopters, which are part of the SP ZOZ Polish Medical Air Rescue fleet.
